Hi everyone!
I am Tiia Yläpöntinen, 19-year-old
girl from Jyväskylä, Finland. I graduated from high school
beginning of the summer 2009 and now I am taking a year off from
studies. At the moment I have one dog living with me – Kiira the
setter is the one who’s bringing action and joy to my life. More
about Kiira at her own page.
Dogs have been a big part of my
life for a long time. Before I got my own dog, I helped all my
neighbours with their dogs. My dream came true when I got my
first dog at the age of ten. Since then, dogs and different
hobbies with dogs has been important thing in my life.
Dog shows – what can I even say
about shows. During the years shows has become dearest hobby
with dogs for me. Before getting my first real show dog ( Ch
Serene Screwdriver “Robin”) , I competed successfully in junior
handling competitions. Also with Robin I competed my last JH
year with great results. Highlights of junior handling years
are qualifications to Finnish championship finals and winning
our kennel district championship.
During these years I have got to
known many different breeds and dog persons – but I have also
got many dear human friends. I would like to thank Robin’s
breeder Marjatta Tanninen and Kiira’s breeder Marita Peuhkuri
for letting me have these dogs in my life. One friend of my mine
has helped me so much with grooming, showing and also been great
friend outside of showrings – so thank you Sanna Vartiainen!
I hope you enjoy your visit and
